The DANSBYTES Minifestival is an annual feature in FATC’s Artistic programme. It is a platform dedicated to new works created by FATC company members. Due to the success of this mini-festival and the dwindling platforms and opportunities available to independent artists, community artists and companies for presenting their work, FATC has opened up the DANSBYTES programme to create an annual mini Dance Festival. In 2014 FATC launched the Spring-Loaded festival as part of this initiative.

Spring-Loaded was a collaborative endeavor between The Forgotten Angle Theatre Collaborative (FATC), Vuyani Dance Theatre (VDT), Sibikwa Arts and Dance Company and Moving into Dance Mophatong (MIDM) and featured works by company members from each of these companies. The two-week festival was partly funded by Rand Merchant Bank (RMB) and Business Arts South Africa (BASA). The collaborating companies pooled their collective resources choreographically, creatively and logistically to present a season of work that spoke to a sense of collective sharing, openness and a celebration of the diversity and distinct vision of each of the participating companies.
